Concentration accuracy precision … within the mind-set perspective of a race- rider -jockey - handler of a very high global standard as Ryan Moore, Kieran Fallon and Frankie Dettori.
Did
you take notice in yesterday’s Racing Post page 11 PRICEWISE: Tom Segal sets out the field’s in all four of CH4 live televised races in separate grids for your quick reference.
The first race at Chester was the 1.45 Handicap 1m2f+ Flat Turf: Tom’s
headline reads:
“9-1 Tres will love getting his toe in. "
WON: 11-2
“IF THERE is one thing you never want
to do betting at Chester
it’s use your own brain. Anyone who tries to use it to find a few winners will
soon come unstuck. Yesterday the Chester Cup was won by a low –draw horse
ridden by Ryan Moore. What more was there to know? And the sprint handicap was
ridiculous, with anything drawn higher than stall seven having no chance.
“The problem is as soon as you fall
in with the norm, a badly drawn runner wins or your selection gets hampered
about 50 times. It is then that punting at Chester becomes incredibly frustrating.
“Perhaps Romsdal will score for John Gosden, but really it’s a bit
of a guessing game as to how good he is. And therefore this is not a race that
looks punter friendly, unless you know for sure the ability of the two Irish
runners. “
“If the rain arrives Noble Mission
(full brother to Frankel) will probably repeat his Sandown victory over
Telescope in the Betfair in the Price Rush Huxley Stakes, although he surely
won’t be allowed as much rope out in front as he was on that occasion” . WIN: Noble Mission 5 9-3 partner James Doyle minder trainer Lady Jane Cecil for K Abdullah 9-4f f
“The feature race, the MBNA the
Chester Vase (2014 Derby Trial) doesn’t look that good on paper, but we said the
same a year ago before subsequent Derby
winner Ruler Of The World hacked up. To win this race. The one really top horse in the line-up
could be Orchestra, who looked good when winning his maiden at Tipperary last season.
The winner was indeed Orchestra partner Ryan Moore but only just from Romsdal partner William Buick trainer team John Gosden.
